The head of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Dialogue in Montenegro, Anđela Ivanović, emphasizes that gender equality is not just a women's issue, but a matter of the quality of institutions, sustainable economic development, and democratic maturity of society.

Anđela Ivanović, the head of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Dialogue in Montenegro, stated that gender equality is not just a women's issue, but a matter of the quality of institutions, sustainable economic development, and democratic maturity of society. She noted that the Ministry, led by Minister Nišić, has implemented one of the most significant reforms of the labour legislation. The new Labour Law was not just a harmonization with the EU legal framework, but an opportunity to transform modern European standards into concrete rights for citizens of Montenegro. We have achieved a balance between the private and business life of employees, expanded and improved parental rights, introduced the right of employees to take leave to care for a family member, introduced flexible forms of work, and strengthened protection against discrimination in the workplace. This has sent a clear message that dignified work, equal opportunities, and the balance between professional and family life are not privileges, but rights.
