Правительство Черногории intensified control activities during the summer tourist season, focusing on high-risk activities to combat informal economy, protect the budget, and ensure equal business conditions for all economic subjects. During the period from May 1 to July 8, 2026, tax inspectors conducted a total of 1,129 inspections across Montenegro. The inspections revealed that 177 tax subjects failed to comply fully with tax regulations. As a result, 267 fines were issued, totaling 910,800 euros. The most frequent violations were found in Budva (40), Ulcinj (32), Bar (31), and Herceg Novi (23), while the smallest number of violations was recorded in Kotor (8) and Cetinje (5). One violation was also recorded in Nikšić, Kolašin, and Bijelo Polje. The majority of the fines were issued to tax subjects engaged in the hospitality industry.
